Hello! I just realized my intro was 2 years old! So I am updating it!

I am now in my 40s, been obese my entire adult life but it snuck up on me 5lbs/year until I am now, 20 yrs later, 100 lbs overweight! (Well, 90 anyway)!

I had a bizarre near death illness last summer which I only survived because I had so much excess flesh...but I don't want the excess anymore! I want to be healthy and fit! What will my weight be when I am healthy and fit? I don't know, but I ...

I had a bizarre near death illness last summer which I only survived because I had so much excess flesh...but I don't want the excess anymore! I want to be healthy and fit! What will my weight be when I am healthy and fit? I don't know, but I do know that healthy and fit means being able to do push-ups aNd pull-ups easily, it means being able to hike long distances easily, and it means being an active participant in life!

I have a lot of work to do physically, mentally and spiritually but I am ready, NOW is the time!

Diane, I just read your post on "40 somethings" at" Panic". I just wanted to say that one thing that helps me (not always) is having the emergency foods around that will prevent me from going off the deep end with calories. They don't have to be the best food choices, but reasonable alternatives to going on a junk food binge. I keep a full bowl of romaine salad with all the trimmings in the fridge and a walnut raisin mix as well as chicken salad. These help keep me grounded when I crave the worst choices. I hope that is helpful. Benny

Thank you for the pretty flowers from this weekend ... Sorry that I am just know getting to it ... so thanks much. All is good went to see the surgeon for my knee and he told me it looks really good and he was very proud of me and for me to keep taking my time w/ certain things so ... I am so very happy !!

Other then that I am good ... how are you ??
