The Me I Want to Be

Too often I think how different it would be if I knew then what I know now... Well TODAY is the THEN that tomorrow I'll be wishing I did differently. So it's time I starting DOING things differently - NOW. Maybe that's confusing to read but it's crystal clear to me.

My Goals:
Iím not a big one for setting goals. Normally, I just sort of stumble along into things. But the truth is, I need to set a goal to achieve one, right? So Iím going to set a few here.

First letís go with that LONG TERM GOAL. Iíd like to weigh 149 pounds. That is more than the recommended weight for my height and age but right now that is the weight Iíd be happy at. Why 149? Because when you step on the doctorís scale, that is the number just before you have to add that extra counter weight on heading to the 200 mark. I hate that counter mark and the 200 one as well. I want to be well rid of them. And in actuality while I list that number as my goal, what I really want is the health and lifestyle benefits that come as part of that number, and the clothes. Iíd really like to wear some non-tent-like clothes.

But LONG TERM goals are not what keep a person motivated. I need a few IMMEDIATE and SHORT TERM goals.

So here is my IMMEDIATE plan:
Starting

My Program:
At the moment here's my plan:
-Try to eat more nutritiously - incorporate as many fruits and veggies as I can in my diet - stick with water and tea.
- Get up and do my own fetching and toting instead of asking my husband or kids to do it
- Take a brisk walk with my hubbie 2 - 3 days a week
- Take a lap around the building floor once a day
- Incorporate some random stretching throughout my day
- Blog every day
- Get back in the pool

Personal Information:
I'm Di.
Happily married, Mother of two great teenagers.
51 years old and not minding that.
Would love to lose this extra weight for good.
Would love to take a flight of stairs without panting halfway to the top.
Would love to get my blood pressure in check without meds.
Would love to become fit, really fit.

Other Information:
Love to read.
Love to write.
Often wish we had no TV.
Like any chance to be creative - planning a party, making gifts, baking, decorating the house.
Wish I had the guts to find a different job.
