The Me I Want to Be

Too often I think how different it would be if I knew then what I know now... Well TODAY is the THEN that tomorrow I'll be wishing I did differently. So it's time I starting DOING things differently - NOW. Maybe that's confusing to read but it's crystal clear to me.

My Goals:
MY 2015 SPRING 5% CHALLENGE GOALS
***Exercise Plan***
* Get at least 10 mins of exercise in EVERY DAY.
* 20-30 min walk or bike ride outside 3 days a week.
* 10 mins of floor stretching any night I watch TV
***Nutrition***
* Follow the Spark guidelines for calories, carbs, fat and protein
* Track every bite, every day
* Get 8 glasses of water in daily



Refreshing my oveall goals...

First let's go with that LONG TERM GOAL. I think I will be happy with 136 pounds so let's call that my goal. But I'm going to include a STRETCH GOAL of 132 which puts me in the WW range for my height.

Now for some shorter term goals. I'd like to lose an average of 1 pound a week from now moving forward.

I'm not going to set myself any timelines as I want to just focus on One Day At A Time.

I also am striving for increasingly better health!

My Program:
Here is my plan.
I am not following any specific diet. I am tracking my food in SparkPeople and following the guidelnes provided there for calories, fat, carbs and protein. I am trying to focus on low carb foods.
However I am not going to go at this as fanatical as I have sometimes in the past.
I am going to be realistic and try to incorporate small changes slowly and permanently.
I am going to follow my husband's lead and take things One Day At A Time only.
I will be kind and supportive to myself.

Personal Information:
I'm Di.
Happily married, Mother of two adult children.
55 years old and not minding that.
Would love to lose this extra weight for good.
Would love to take a flight of stairs without panting halfway to the top.
Would love to get my blood pressure in check without meds.
Would love to become fit, really fit.

Other Information:
Love to read.
Love to write.
Often wish we had no TV.
Like any chance to be creative - planning a party, making gifts, baking, decorating the house.

Hi Di! Thanks for visiting my page... looks like we are both fighting the same battle. Seems like I've been 'trying' to lose weight for my entire life!! But its been since July '09 that I've been taking a deep, honest look at myself and my issues. I finally realized it's not about the diet, it's about me. I'm participating in a Biggest Loser Challenge here on SP right now, and its just what I need.... others pushing me, and having that accountability to them. For food, I'm just counting calories and making healthier choices. I'm not a fan of exercising, but this challenge is forcing me to do it!!! LOL.

Hey, I often wish we had no TV too. In fact, I watch a lot less of it now, and my husband has adapted to the fact that I don't like it on.. Even if I'm on the laptop, it's distracting, and sucks up too much of my attention and time! My life is so much better without it! I might not even buy one when I have my own place!
