Making the Transition from Existing to Living

Hey everyone! I am Diana and I have been on this roller coaster for most of life. I have a loving husband, four great children, and several beautiful grandchildren.

I am exactly where I have been for years, only with yet another 15 pounds on top of what I already was carrying. I am so tired of the roller coaster. Hey everyone! I am Diana and I have been on this roller coaster for most of life. I have a loving husband, four great children, and several beautiful grandchildren.

I am exactly where I have been for years, only with yet another 15 pounds on top of what I already was carrying. I am so tired of the roller coaster. Today marks the day that I start on inside and work outwards. Obviously I can't keep saying, "I'll do that when I have lost the weight". That kind of thinking has gotten me to 200 pounds overweight and I am still waiting.

This time my focus is not on losing weight. My main objective is to create and maintain healthy habits one step at a time. It will not be easy, but I intend to use many ways to measure my success, not just what the scale says. Milestone #1 will be fitting into my clothes again.

1 ~ Fit into my clothes the I currently own which have no elastic waistband in them.

2 ~ Fit into my brand new bathing suit

3 ~ Tie my shoes

4 ~ Paint my toenails

There are so many more to list. I will get there.

I'm glad you are back, Diana! I am back, too! I dropped out for a long time (lots of "reasons" but none of them any good). I am back with determination and commitment this time.

Like you, I am counting the NSV's (None Scale Victories) and am trying to work from the inside out by changing my negative self-talk to positive self-talk. A BIG problem I have had in the past (It's what I am struggling with; it is not entirely in the past.) is that I see myself as FAT AND UNDESERVING OF BEING THIN.

Let's help each other! One of your nonscale victories is your beautiful complexion! I noticed it when I first "met" you on SP, and you STILL HAVE IT!
