Many changes have happened since i have joined Sparks. But of late they are changes for the better. Getting a divorce from a loveless marriage and a mentally ill man who can't get the help he needs as long as i am with him. so getting him into the new situation soon.
In the divorce I'm getting a name change and an new man in my life as well as a new family. My name will be Diamondrose Lynette, the new man in my life has asked me to marry him and move to New York. He has an 18 year old daughter as well. So will be getting remarried late this year.
Changes are worth it no matter how big or small they may seem at the time. Now that these changes do make a diifference in your life and are worth the effort to go with them and follow the path that is right for you.
I'm old enough to know better and disabled. I need to lose another 127 pounds before I can have both knees and my right ankle replaced. i already have lost 270 pounds and did it the hard way and the right way.with diet and exercise. I recently learned I have sleep apenea and have now received and am using a c-pap machine at night. Hope this will help me get back on track and get so good sleep and also loose some of the weight.
I am the mother of 5, have 12 grandchildren and one great-grandson 18 months old. I love to sew, quilt, paint, draw, crochet, make jewelry, and to garden . I love flowers and herbs, and vegetable gardening .
I love movies pre-1990 and music of most generes. I love to read books on herbs, and the Native American Indian Culture, and romance novels as well
i love most styles of music. Polka music is the one I grew up with. i had 10 polka bands in my family some were cousins and others were Uncles Bands. Grew up singing and dancing to the music. Was a Polka Music Dj for a number of years, and voted on the Grammy Awards as well. the only music i 'm not able to tolerate is rap and hip hop music. i do have a large music library and it has grown to nearly 6000 albums, i have music that goes back to 1911 all the way to today. I have 78's, 33's, 45's, 8 tracks, cassettes tapes, and cd.s i love my music and couldn't go through a day with out something playing on the stereo or the radio.
As I near the 3rd year with Sparks I see the value that I have earned from being here. Let me list the ways it has helped me:
1; Made some wonderful friends
2 : Showed me I can do what I have set out no matter what.
3: Sharing my story has inspired others
4. Made me realize I'm closer to my goals I have set.
5 Always have some a healthy recipes that are at my finger tips
6 That I'm truly making a lifestyle change
7: Others are looking a Sparks differently because of my success even if it has been small in the last year.
8: I can do the things I set out and am making the change one step at a time.
9: changes both big and small are worth it even if at the time i don't realize it.
I'm also finding that I have more focus as the 3rd year of being with Sparks has focused. I have also learned that humor sure helps makes the changes easier to deal with. And that I can look at the negative things, and see I am making progress on my goals. GLAD i found sparks!
i need to loose 90 pounds so that i can get both of my knees and my right ankle replaced I already have lost 354 lbs. the rest of the weight i would like to have off as soon as possible but know that I have to take it slow and steady as that keeps the weight off. To do this the right way so the weight stays off permenately.
I have lost over 300 pounds now. getting closer to the goal. It has been a long journey but worth it all. And i would have done it this way again. Glad i didn't do the surgery I was told to do.
I will continue to exercise, and watch the foods I eat and keep a positive attitude no matter what
I use the JOrge Cruise 8 Minute Exercise Program and have for the last 5 years. will continue to use it and add a few things from Sparks as well
I also play darts each week
I am the mother of 5 children. I have 3 living sons and one son that died in jan of 1991. i also have one daughter. Now adding a step daughter too. the new daughter is like my own. Between the four living children I have 12 wonderful grandkids and one great-grandson who are part of the reason I want to loose weight.
I also have been in the health care industry for over 29 years and a Disc Jockey for about 6 years. I have arthritis in both of my knees and my right ankle, and in my hands. I have been on the disabled list since 1996, and hate it I can't do more. But each day gets better and try to keep from getting into a a wheelchair. Don't want to go there at all.
i am getting closer to my goals every day. Yes the journey is hard and almost blinding at times, but take things one step at a time and keeping a positive attitude does make it easier despite what may be going on in your life. Finding the humor in life has gotten
Loosing weight that is in the triple digits can be daunting, and super frustrating. One can lose hope and has to be kept focused and made aware daily of their goals. It is one day at a time and one step at a time. It is retraining ones brain to accept the changes you want to achieve, and you have to keep reminding your self there is a purpose for doing what you want. Doing this on one's own like I did is very tough. You need to have someone who will push you and keep you focused on what you are trying to achieve, and your sight on the goal you have set. Sparks in the few weeks i have been a part of the team has shown me it could have been easier than with what I went through. All who are new to this sight know that any of us will tell you what we have been through and How we have kept motivated and remind you to drink the ice water and to stay focused on the goal. We will even help you stay focused with reminders and hope, and with positive reinforcement to the weight loss .
