I joined SparkPeople in January, I believe it was. Anyway, my original page title said, "I Want To Be 53 and Fabulous", well through this wonderful site and the people on it I've realized that I AM 53 and fabulous, so it's time to change my introduction and page title. I came here thinking to learn to help myself lose weight and start an exercise program I could live with and found so much more than that. I found friendships that I will treasure forever, more support than I've ever had in my life, laughter, joy and shoulders to cry on. I found a person I now call my long lost twin sister here. She is wonderful and definitely my family. The little group that I blog with are some of the most amazing, supportive, admirable, loving, caring and kind people I've ever met. I could go on and on about them. They are the reason I've been able to make some very serious changes in my life. Good changes. Their advice, jokes, tears, all of it have helped me to see that I'm not flawed, just challenged by life just like everyone else. I don't know if the founder of SP knows just what he's done here, but if not, I'd like to be the first to say THANK YOU and you probably have no idea how many lives you have saved.
I have two grown sons, one who is a single parent of three little ones ages; 8,6 and 4 and I live with him and take care of his children and home so he can work and support them. This isn't where I thought I would be at this time in my life, but it is, so I will make the best of it and enjoy the love of those wonderful little ones. I am divorced from my children's father (best thing I ever did, besides this LOL) and have been trying for over ten years to get my life together and SP has and is helping me to do this. I now live my life with more joy and laughter than tears and pain. This is a wonderful place with wonderful people who are always there for you day and night. They have taught me to embrace and enjoy my own fabulosity! Enjoy yours too.
To lose at least 80 pounds. Change my lifestyle to fit my goals and to get all the help and support I can.
Exercising for at least thirty minutes a day. Watching portion sizes at meals. Making healthier choices at mealtimes.
