Getting back into nature!

I used to climb mountains and backpack/hike a lot but have gained so much weight it hurts my joints. No more! I am committing to regular exercise and to lose 80 pounds

Thanks everyone! I have a plan that has come out of all this. First, it would be best to lose weight prior to surgery so I hope to drop 40 pounds. That would push the surgery out until next year. I asked the doctor if that was reasonable and he said absolutely but to let the pain be my guide. I got a cortisone shot that has helped. I also bought a stationary bike and try to ride 15-20 minutes a day. It does hurt later so I have to be careful. Again, thanks for your support!!

Wow - a total hip replacement - that's huge. Glad you found out the issue and cause of your pain though and hope that the surgery and recovery goes well.

PS - I changed the name of the June challenge because I had drinks too yesterday... if you want to jump back in anytime : ) (no pressure).

HI sweetie, read your post. So sorry about your hip. Please don't suffer too long you have suffered enough. Could you go to a rehab place for a while after your surgery?
