Liking the Mirror

For a long time I avoided mirrors - I was sure the person looking back at me was someone else!I have a long way to go but I am beginning to see me again in that darn mirror! Life is good! For a long time I avoided mirrors - I was sure the person looking back at me was someone else!I have a long way to go but I am beginning to see me again in that darn mirror! Life is good! Today, I understand that I am on the journey to health and weight loss. I am going to remember it is a journey - not a destination. I am going to be patient with myself, not impatient. I will savor the victories and set the goals. If I stumble - it is just that - a stumble, not a road block, not the beginning of a downward spiral or the end of the road. Well, now I choose to be slim and healthy! And I am reminded life is choice. What I chose yesterday - resulted in today. What I choose today will reflect in the new and healther me tomorrow. I am focused and determined. Maybe slow and steady wins the race. It is not about a month time frame, or a year. It is about finding fun and enjoyment in today. And being grateful.

My youngest is getting married in September and I am not buying a dress until August. I want to be proud of me and I want her to be proud of me. Unstoppable.

My Goals:
My goal is to have an active healthy lifestyle with my BMI around 22 on or before January 2012 . I am going to walk up an Inca pyramid with out being winded, sometime in 2012.
Mini Goals - 10 lb increments:
10 lbs - gone Feb 26
20 lbs - gone March 29
30 lbs - gone April 28

Mid Goal
June 4th -Cancer Walk - my goal is 180lbs (40 lbs lighter than my start weight in Febuary)
Mid goal #2 will be to be a size 12(or less) and 70 lbs lighter by September 3rd -daughters wedding day.


My Program:
I am involved with the Spark Program. Blogging, journalling - offering support to others. I am not doing this alone I am and will be keeping track of my foods - recording all. I am doing cardio 5 days a week as well as the strength exercises 3 times a week. If I reach a wall my plan is to increase the exercise til I break the barrier.

Personal Information:
My name is Deb, and I live in a small village in Central Alberta - 750 inhabitants if you count the dogs. I am happily married to a very nice man! We have two amazing daughters and one small non-exercising dog! We I love world travelling and look forward to more in the future.

Other Information:
I am full of quotes - love all of them. I believe we create our own reality and we are responsible for where we are in life.

Hi, Deb. Thanks for stopping by.

I made the side-by-side pic in Word. I inserted the two pics next to each other, and cropped and resized. Then I copied a print screen into Microsoft Picture Manager, cropped it, and saved it as an image file.

I am sure there are fancier ways to do it, but that works for me.
