I going to work on getting to these 2 goals before listing more rewards for milestones reached. I have so much to lose and I feel it will be better to break down in chunks like this. See you in a few months for more.
Thanks so much for your response on my blog... it means more than you can know. You are right too, it is what is right for me and that is why my mom is still with me. I did speak to my brother and he suggested next monday eve for a sit down. I hope they really hear me. Thanks again.... ;) Suzanne
Hi! Thanks for stopping by my blog. I see that you feel like you've had trouble losing 100 lbs. I have been on Sparkpeople for a very long time now. May I tell you something that I've learned during my time here? Overall, I want to lose at least 60 lbs., but when I think of it in those terms, it's daunting and I just get exhausted thinking of it.
HOWEVER, when I join the Biggest Loser Challenges, here on Sparkpeople, I break it down into 12 week chunks (chunky-chunks...LOL!!). This 12 weeks, my goal is to lose 13 lbs. Now THAT is manageable! 13 lbs. will go a long way toward making me look and feel better. Last BLC, my goal was to lose 12 lbs. and I lost 6. I didn't hit my goal, but...I did stop gaining and I did start losing and that was awesome! I didn't gain much over the holidays, which was new for me. I started adding some interest to my workouts and that's motivated me further and I started to notice some patterns - like, the more veggies I eat, the more weight I lose in a week.
So, I wonder - if you stop looking at this as a 100 lb. goal and start looking at it in mini-goals (rewarding yourself for each mini-goal), would you not feel so overwhelmed?
If you challenge yourself to lose 5 lbs. and threw a little personal party when you do...would that change your outlook? It changed mine.
