Thanks for stopping by my page!! My name is Carla. I had a beautiful baby girl named, Ava Grace on 2/4/08. With the pregnancy, I gained 60 lbs. At the time when I found out I was pregnant, I was doing Weight Watchers and was very successful with it. At 5'8", I was 21 lbs away from my goal of 164 lbs.

Throughout my baby girl's pregnancy I was very nervous at how much weight I would gain...With my son, I had gained 85 lbs, totaling a high of 270 lbs by the time that I gave birth. Additionally, I was diagnosed with gestational diabetes during my pregnacy with my son. With my daughter, I started off well with my weight gain but it soon crept up totally 60 lbs, bringing me to a whopping 245 lbs. Yes, I was disappointed, but when I look back at what God has blessed me with, she was worth it. I felt God's love and grace throughout the entire time that I carried her. Even today as I look at her, I know that God had his hand upon her life. She is more beautiful than I could have ever imagined!! I can say that I ate more healthy and I didn't have gestational diabetes and no swelling!! Most of all she was healthy!! God is so good!!

Although, I was a member of SparkPeople since 7/3/08 I didn't start seriously until 9/15/08. Since 9/15/08, I continued to have many obstacles with food and fitness. My DH is a pastor so we have a lot of "food" functions that we attend along with our members cooking food and baked goods for us and our family. This has been extremely challenging for me. My weight has been up and down...I learned that I had an unhealthy relationship with food and fitness most of my life. I wanted to eat what I wanted to eat along with NO exercise. I hated exercise. I have lost tons of weight before without exercising. But this time it just wasn't coming off like it used to...I started off with baby steps and started with my eating and then introduced exercise slowly. We still have those "food" functions to attend and we still get food made for us on a weekly basis but I have to be strong and think about what Carla wants...Does she want to look and feel good? or Does she want to eat whatever and whenever and be fat?

I definitely want to look and feel good!! I want to be comfortable in my skin...I want to know that when people are looking at me, that they are looking at how good I look and not how BIG I am!!

So with that being said, I am "Done being the fat girl"!!
I am "Done being the fat wife"!!
I am "Done not being able to fit into the clothes that I like"!!
I am "Done feeling uncomfortable"!!
I am "Done having rolls on my body"!!
I am "Done with my weight going up and down"!!
I am "Done making excuses"!!

1. The scale isn't everything

To stay motivated, try finding other ways to measure your progress instead of stepping on the scale. Try some benchmarks that actually matter. Some may be tougher to measure than others, some are more subjective. But we think you'll find that these measurements can still be a lot more meaningful and motivating.

Take some of these regular measurements to stay motivated, even if the scale isn't moving:

* Body Measures dress size, waist, hips, neck, arms, fitting into favorite clothes

* Performance more endurance during exercise, doing them at a higher level, jumping higher, walking longer, running faster, playing a sport better

* General Feeling rate energy level, rate attitude and outlook, track how often you feel very sleepy during the day, rate your confidence level

* Health blood pressure, cholesterol level, blood sugar level

* Intangibles how you look, compliments you receive, how others respond to you

My Goals:

My ultimate goal is to be a size 10. I currently wear a size 12 in suits and jeans & dress pants.

My current goal weight is set at a weight where I think that I will be able to fit into a size 10. If need be I will alter my goal weight when the time comes.

Currently, I am following Weight Watchers Program. I am also committing to a work out regimen of minimally 5 days a week. I track ALL of my food daily. If it isn't tracked on Spark, I do use a food journal.

Hey girl how are you ??
i am still here i just had a tummy tuck :) i am Happy but there is more skin that needs to be taken off and them i am off for the boobs next lol
i am shooting to get to 135 by my next surgery so it will be my last stop then i am just going to maintain :) and live a LONG happy healthy life :)
