My name is M. I'm a full-time student, full-time mother, and I work part-time at a hotel on the weekends. All of which leaves me quite busy, but I've found that I prefer it that way :) On the plus side, I'm sleeping more than I was two years ago ;) Downside is that it leaves me with little energy for exercise.
I was born and raised in Des Moines, Iowa but I currently live in Albuquerque, New Mexico with my husband of eight years, my two sons, and our two dogs.
I have a journal/blog post about my goals and such as it''s much easier to do it that way..trust me.
Now that I've had time to be at peace with myself as I am, it is time that I get healthier and slowly become happy with I will be.
To do that, I will have to find or build or create (or something because I don't believe that I have any at the moment) some willpower. I can never seem to say no to temptation; I always give in and it has led me to gain another 20lbs in the past two years. I hate the idea of telling myself that I CANNOT have (insert bad food/drink here) but the fact of the matter appears to be that I shouldn't allow myself to have it until I'm positive that it won't lead to a slip.
We all know that exercise and healthy eating are also paramount but I think I have to go beyond that. I'm just not sure how.
For now, I'm going to start with tracking ALL my food every day as well as getting around 15-30min of exercise at least 3 days a week. As much as I want to, I can't start off strong because I won't keep it up. I have to start small and slowly build on that smaller habit.
I only hope that I can keep it up and keep it going. Wish me luck!
My goals are simple - get and stay healthy and show my kids that it's fun to be healthy.
I like to sing, sew, write, type, and bake. I have a very eclectic taste when it comes to music and while I like lots of different shows, I can't exactly say that I'm eclectic in those tastes. I love to read! I prefer fantasy books (like Lord of the Rings) but my favorite book is Pride and Prejudice..
