Dreaming in the desert ...

I share my home and life with 4-footed friends - 3 cats (Sahara, Starkist & Shadowspawn), & 4 dogs. My 4 little dogs are smallest dogs I''ve ever had - Shalako the Pomeranian, Samurai the Papillon, Spartacus the rescued chihuahua, and the newest one, Scorpio the chihuahua that followed us home and stayed. We''ve been walking about 30 minutes to 2 hours daily.

I got the lap-band surgery in Nov 06. So far, I''ve lost over 120 pounds (3/9/10). Recently changed my end goal to ...

I got the lap-band surgery in Nov 06. So far, I''ve lost over 120 pounds (3/9/10). Recently changed my end goal to even less. (155). Sigh ...

I''m an RN and work 12 hour night-shifts - boy, does that throw your metabolism off! I have things planned in the daytime for my days off, and have to sleep in the daytime on work days. All the tips for improving sleep say "set a routine and stick to it". Uh, huh - that''ll work.

My Goals:
Mini goal - I'm gonna bust thru 200 by the end of July!! DID IT!!! 7/13/09

Finally made 2 separate week weigh-ins of less than 175 - yeah! 3/14/13

Get in shape so my knees don't keep stressing.

Guess I'd better give up on retiring any time soon!

My Program:
Walking my little dogs every day. Throwing in strength exercises while I wait for the sniff breaks for them.

Personal Information:
Outside of a dog, a book is man's best friend. Inside of a dog, it's too dark to read.
Groucho Marx

If man could be crossed with the cat, it would improve man but deteriorate the cat.
Mark Twain

I always like a dog so long as he isn't spelled backward.
G.K. Chesterton

Other Information:
I'm a reader. Can't go to the bathroom without book in my hand (even if I don't open it in the little room). Love my cats and dogs.

When you don't think the program will work, remember the motto: Try it our way for at least 6 weeks and if you are not satisfied we will gladly refund your misery

This is the wonder: that of all the days of the year, the most important one is the everyday.

The everydays that are the most days of the year. These, the most days of our lives.

I think about these everydays that have me taking sun-dried sheets in off the line

or shoveling snow, these are the important days.

Everydays when I trip over excited little dogs

and the laundry mounts into its very own range and I finally think of something to make for dinner

when the head's weary tired and a wonderful aroma fills the air. All this.

This is the sacred everyday.
I can miss it. How holy the moments are.
How do we find ways to somehow live awake to the astonishing, ordinary wonder of all this?
How do we find ways to somehow live so that everyday is consecrated?

We must find ways.
For the ways we live our everydays is the way we live our lives.
Psalm 105:1
Give thanks to the Lord and proclaim his greatness.
Let the whole world know what He has done.

and thanks for the everydays that you make into holidaze in my life! xxxo

So glad to see you are still at it. Congrats! I have been using the logging and tracking tools but the community tools...not so much. But I am back and trying to get into the success headset. And you have inspired me today. Thank You!
