I'm on a 1 lb a week plan with a goal of 199 by next October. My plan includes intentional walking, recreational exercise, taking stairs. avoiding the snacks-laden breakroom, reducing calories and Sparkpeople! Total weight loss will be 35 lbs and I will evaluate my next goal when I get there.

The Zone (from 2009)

Using a combination of BMI, medical studies on risk reduction, and frame size, I've come up with a "Zone of Optimal Energy", which is a BMI from 23-27 for any large framed human. I'm currently at 26.3, so I'm considering myself at goal rather than worrying about hitting under 25. For more info, read on...
--Ideal BMI is between 18.5 - 24.9.
--Risk of heart attack, diabetes, heart disease, etc. goes down by 80% if your BMI is under 30, and even further if your BMI is under 27.
--People with large frames should gravitate toward the upper part of the BMI range, not the lower part.

These factors combine to give me an optimal zone between 156-182, and as of this writing, Aug 25th, 2009, I am happily at 178. I'm making the transition to maintenance.
