Becoming an Athlete!

In '09, after both my husband and myself losing our positions at our jobs, and the accompaning pay, I found myself working 2 jobs, 70 hours a week. After a few months I hit 275 lbs. I had just turned 30 and thought, "My life isn't supposed to be like this." With 2 boys at home I decided that I had to make some major changes. I started in January and have so far, been successful in losing 60 lbs! I'm down to the last 30 and I 'm so excited! Update-now it's 24 left!

My Goals:
I set up a series of goals to keep myself motivated since I initially had so much weight to lose so here they are in order. Goals Met -Lose 30lbs -Run a 5k -Run a hilly 5k -Run/Walk a 10k -Lose 50 lbs -Run a 10k-completed on Thanksgiving Goals still to come Finish in the top 3 in a 5k-I want a medal! Under 200 lbs -Reach goal weight-185!

My Program:
Focus on overall nutrition. Portion size is under control, now focusing on eating protein, fruit or veg, fat, and a complex carb every time I eat. Workout 5 days per week cardio, 3 days weight training, 2 of those with a trainer.

Personal Information:
I'm a wife and mom to 2 boys. I work outside the home full time. I love to travel and am fortunate to live in a area with a lot of great activities so watch out for those too!

Congrats on your success so far. You have done a great job. I just read your blog "Popcorn Wars" and I don't blame you for being a little upset, I truly believe that we must teach our children healthy eating habits so that they don't have to go through weight issues later in life. Congrats on all of your success.
