Life's Lint

You might wonder why I chose "Life's Lint" as my page title. Well, so often we worry about big things we can't fix, can't control. We also find ourselves "waiting" for the right moment or rushing, wishing the week away for a certain event. All along, we do things we think are mundain, eat, take care of pets, family, dishes, laundry, bathe, brush teeth, drive to work, watch TV, exercise, go to church ... routine things that we just "do" or don't do what we think are fillers between big ...
You might wonder why I chose "Life's Lint" as my page title. Well, so often we worry about big things we can't fix, can't control. We also find ourselves "waiting" for the right moment or rushing, wishing the week away for a certain event. All along, we do things we think are mundain, eat, take care of pets, family, dishes, laundry, bathe, brush teeth, drive to work, watch TV, exercise, go to church ... routine things that we just "do" or don't do what we think are fillers between big events. That's our "lint" little things that we think allow us to live life.

I was getting ready to go to my Mother's funeral and while getting dressed. I was picking lint off my coat. Blue, "Oh," I thought - "I wore this with that new sweater I bought.." my mind trailed off to a happier time. I found kleenex lint in my pocket (the result of leaving a tissue in the pocket during the laundry process). I thought - "glad that cold is over" appreciative that I had family and friends who checked up on me daily, watching out for me; which reminded me, "I need tissue for today..."

It's interesting how those little nothings turn out to be our "something" in life once they are gone, change or abruptly spiral out of control.

Some of my lint caused me to pile on pounds. It kept me from finding someone special in my life, having a family, truly enjoying my career. So, I am examining my lint better. Seeing what is valued in my life, what I can change, what I can get rid of, or what I need to improve so that all my little nothings will make up the "something" life I want.
