8/15/2012 Update: After maintaining for the last couple months, a "weight gain scare" (I gained 5lbs in three days!) convinced me that I need to at least try to get my weight back under some control. I am back on the primal diet (no dairy, low carbs) and doing really well! I am down 6.4lbs from about a week and a half ago. I know I keep yo-yoing but it seems like every time I gain a bunch of weight, I still gain less than I lost--so I am at least stopping the gain before it gets too high? Check out my updated goals in the sidebar.

5/4/12 Update: I didn't stick with my last attempt, so I am back at a much more sedate pace :) I am a size 12/14 again and very unhappy with my looks and my binging, so I am working to get the latter under control more than trying to restrict whole food groups.

I thought I should update my page since I am back for another round with the Spark. Quick summary: last year I lost 40+lbs but couldn't stay away from sugar and bread and and and...I gained back 20lbs by February of this year. Having to buy a pair of pants that was 3 sizes larger than my "skinny" pants was the final straw and I restarted my plan the next day. I have had a lot of success with SP (as long as I keep logging my food!) and I'm already down 10lbs!

Like many of you I was always overweight, and I was teased by my peers and had a lot of body-hate for most of my life. I dieted (unsuccessfully) from about age 13 to my early twenties and always gained back the weight. In the meantime I visited Europe (and Canada!), learned to whitewater kayak, and earned a BA in history. I met and married a wonderful, funny, handsome man, and moved across the country. As unhappy as I was/am with my body, I didn't let it hold me back from new experiences. I know well that losing weight isn't all it takes to loving my bod, but trying to lead a healthier life is a start.

My Goals:
1. lose weight to get back to 150 before October--two weddings to dress up for!

2. Keep the weight off and lose a bit more if I can :)

3. Fit into my black and white dress by the first wedding!

4. Fit into the orange dress by the second.

My Program:
Primal/paleo diet full of veggies, meats and some fruit.
