Just trying to keep up with everything, while my husband and I enjoy life with our little girl!

I'm currently in the dissertation writing stage of my PhD in Japanese literature. I love what I do, but I'm definitely living a much more stationary life these days!

My husband and I lived in Japan for two years, teaching English in local jr. high schools, and we had a blast. The food is not necessarily as healthy as we expected, but we did live without a car for those two years. Despite all the convenient trains and subways, we got in plenty of walking and biking just for our daily commutes, shopping, etc., so we were probably at the most fit we'd been in a long time!

Then I started grad school, and a couple years after that, we had our little girl! Now she's four years old, and keeping us on our toes. I'm doing my best to balance the intense work of my final year of dissertation writing, while having my little one at home half-time. But needless to say, it's a challenge, and working out often gets put on the back burner.

Fitness Minutes: 8,653

My Goals:
-Get at least 30 minutes of cardio 3-4 days a week

-Stretch for at least 15 minutes every day. If this eventually gets me back into doing yoga again, all the better!

-Cook at home. This involves planning meals for the week, having more fresh produce in the house, and limiting meals out to a few times a month.

My Program:
-I'm having a lot of fun with the classes at my local gym. There is plenty of variety, and the people are always upbeat and fun to be around.
