My goals are to lose about 10-15 pounds. I found out the my blood pressure is just a tad higher than it should be. I need to get it lower and eat and exercise more.

Dee, I'm sorry your mom's been sick. I'll keep you both in my prayers. I completely understand about not being able to post right away. I am just now able to check my page and see what's been going on. I hope everything is better for everyone now.
The weather here is cold and wet! (sigh) Sugar and I aren't happy about that at all. It just chills you to the bone and I refuse to walk very far w/ her so she's not pleased with me right now. lol..... I've fallen out of the Queen's favor! Oh my! :D Well, she'll get over it. I need to walk. I lost a half pound this past week. That was following a 5 lb loss the week before so I can't be too disappointed.
Hope all is going well with your efforts, especially with the extra stress of a sick mom. :( TC and have a great day! - Gina
Hey Dee. Thanks for the welcome! Your "fur babies" are adorable. Let's stay in touch. It's nice to have encouragement from other Christian ladies my age!
Every time I do this it just gets harder to lose the wt. I've recently gained 48 of the 69 pounds I lost on WW about 12 years ago. Sure wish I'd stayed on track, but I'm determined to do this. I'm working on drinking my water this a.m. Hope you have a great day.
Hey back! Thank you so much for the resounding welcome! It's not such a bad "pack" after all, is it? :) You were looking at the sled dogs and Chief, along with all of the rest of them, are a sporting breed called an "Alaskan Husky." There is no breed typology and generally, it's a fast mutt that loves to run and usually has a double coat, something we call "good feet", and more often than not, runs off of a rather high protein diet for either fast short distances (2-20 miles) or long, slower distances (50-1000 miles). Chief is actually not wolf. He sure looks it, though, doesn't he! He, more than likely, is a nice blend of some of the following: Siberian Husky (before Russia closed it's borders *s*), Saluki, and Alaskan village dog (also a russian by product, mixed with whatever the gold rush guys brought up with them in the 20s). He is, what I'd call a "Streeper" dog, because his main blood lines come from a musher by the name of Eddy Streeper. That's how we do pedigrees! Funny, huh? I have mostly Streeper dogs with a King dog (that isn't pictured) and some others mixed in.
I might have good news for you, though! There are mushing clubs as far south as Jamaica! The dogs run on dry land and in cool(er) conditions, but if you looked it up, you might just find a fun race somewhere nearby where you could go and watch the mayhem! It's fun to do it once.
Hello! I love your doggies, too! I love dogs, period! :) I am glad to meet you and hope to have many happy times of "sparking." Your weight loss looks great! I hope I can get this party started and commence to losing (as Uncle Jed would say). :)
Thanks for stopping by my page with your warm welcome Dee! I'm hoping to get really motivated here & accomplish some serious weight loss. Looks like this is the place to be. I always enjoy talking about our furkids. Your furkids pics are adorable! :-)
