Time to get Real!!!

I just turned 49 and I'm determined to be the healthiest and happiest I've ever been when I hit the big 50 next December. So, for me it's back to basics. Healthy eating, regular exercise, and tracking. I've lost and gained a lot of weight over the past 15 years and I will continue to start this journey over (and over and over and over) until I get it right! My Goals:
My ultimate goal is to reach and maintain a healthy weight and an active lifestyle once and for all!!



Short term goals:



1) Complete the 10 minute daily exercise challenge

2) Track food and fitness daily

3) Drink at least (8) 8 oz glasses of water/day

4) Try at least 1 new healthy recipe per week

5) Write a weekly gratitude list

6) Complete the FIT Challenge 5K mud run on 4/5/2014

My Program:
Getting back to basics like healthier food choices, plenty of water, and tracking food and fitness.

I'm trying to get back into a regular fitness routine. I'm starting with the 10 minute daily exercise challenge, using my elliptical or recumbent bike.
I also got hand weights and resistance bands for Christmas and I plan to put them to good use! I'll be focusing on core and upper body strength training to prepare the FIT challenge mud run!!!

Personal Information:
I'm an RN and mom to 3 beautiful girls, 25, 22, and 14 and grandma to a beautiful, healthy baby boy. We live in Southeastern Massachusetts, about half way between Boston and Cape Cod. I love to travel, cook, read, and crochet. I'm also in school, working towards a dual Master's in Nursing and Health Administration.



Other Information:
I've struggled with my weight for as long as I can remember and have tried every diet under the sun!! My weight has yo-yo'd from 135 - 235 since the birth of my youngest daughter 14 years ago. I am determined to conquer this demon!!

Thanks for the comment on my blog. We had a great time, and had on so many layers we were not cold at all. Just my toes after the 1st hour. Hope you are making the best of this horible weather. Not looking forward to the possible storm coming the middle of the week.
