Hi, I'm Deb - a 61yo retired nurse who recently moved from the "big city" back home to WV. I have three great daughters and six awesome grandkids. I had success with SP in the past, then let myself get bogged down with stress and regained the weight. Recently diagnosed with prediabetes, I'm hoping to get back to my healthy habits, and I know that SP and the great people here will be a huge help

My Goals:
First goal: Change my lifestyle to a healthy one

Second goal: Get the cholesterol and A1C down to healthy levels

Third goal: Try out new things and enjoy the trip on my way back to a healthy weight!


My Program:
I plan to get some walking every day, and strength training at least 3 days a week. I am following a lifestyle change combining the diabetic Plate plan with Mediterranean Diet foods. Going for 64 ounces of water daily at the least and have cut down on starchy carbs, packaged foods and cut out fast foods. Goodbye to my potato chip obsession! Doing a morning meditation and reminding myself every morning to experience this day fully and be grateful.

My daughter got me a Fitbit for my birthday, and it's been a huge motivation! Every day I want to make that 10,000 steps.



Personal Information:
I recently moved back home to WV after living in Atlanta for several years, and Ohio a few years before that.

I enjoyed being a nurse for over 30 years. Disabled now and learning to make my life as a retiree and keep learning and growing.


Other Information:
I love reading, especially mysteries; watching movies; and spending time with my family. I enjoy learning new things.

    A belated welcome to the NO S Diet team. I was 56 when I started' I'll be 62 in September. It is a great way to live. It took a few ups and downs and even s bit of negotiating now, but that's normal. And it's allowed me to be a lot less frantic about food than my peers. So glad I found it! Hope you will be, too.
