Hi and welcome to SparkPeople and our Managing Diabetes Group and High Blood Pressure Teams. Here you will find tons of encouragement, support and answers. Everyone is so helpful! If you have a question, comment or suggestion, just post it. Someone will respond quickly. When I first joined SparkPeople, all I did was read the comments. The encouragement and emotional support I received from that kick-started me into checking SP out in more detail. Now I even join in the posts, put pictures on my SparkPage (something I never thought I would do) and tell the world how much I weigh. (sigh) My days are brighter and each day brings a new beginning. Just take one small step at a time and enjoy the journey as you go. Remember to just take one day at a time on this journey of a lifetime. This journey consists of many small steps, a few speed bumps and pot holes, and a lot of fun. Start slowly. If you can only do 5 minutes, that's great. Maybe do 5 minutes two or three times a day and add as you can tolerate. Get a good pedometer (about $10) and see how many steps you are taking a day. Soon you will be adding steps to see how many you can do. Before you know it you will be checking to see how many miles you have walked in a day. WHAT A GREAT MOTIVATOR!!! I do walking every day in addition to my bike, etc. sometimes in the 5-10 minute increments depending on what my 4 year old goddaughter and I are up to. Stay focused and keep a positive attitude as this will be a great help to you in your daily life!!! Smile although sometimes that is the hardest, but it really helps!!! And, if nothing else, it makes people wonder what you're up to. It's good to meet and have you with us. God bless you in your new adventures. Hugs, Helen

Hey Deborah, Thanks for adding me as a friend. How are you doing today with your diet? I have done pretty good so far today but missed my water areobic class this morning. I feel bad about that but I wanted to sew something so I stayed home and sewed a pretty draw sting bag for my insulin pens. Have a good day.
