My Goals:
To finish a half-marathon this year (while still in my 40's)and a full-marathon next year (as I enter my 50's). To get back to a healthy self-image so that I can help my son with forming his own healthy self-image.

My Program:
Logging in every day is key for me. The quick article that helps me focus, and the encouragement from team members are always there. Tracking my food and fitness keeps me in line as well. And, of all things, I've become hooked on running. It's my alone time. The time to just relax and be alone with me. You'd be amazed at how many of the world's problems I've solved on a morning run!

Personal Information:
I'm Deb. I was born in Canada and raised around the world. My father was in the military and we moved quite a bit. Then, just after he retired from the military I entered the USAF and moved pretty often. Now, we are settled just outside San Antonio, TX. I love the outdoors and we get to appreciate nature most of the year here. I'm used to the heat and have a hard time whenever the temps drop below 70.

Other Information:
Throughout my entire life I've been focused on the goal forgetting to appreciate the journey. So, each morning I read the following quote on my fridge to help me remember what is really important.

"It is good to have an end to journey toward; but it is the journey that matters, in the end." Ursula K. LeGuin

Deb, you are keeping me so motivated even though I've only seen you for about an hour in the last few weeks. That is the miracle of this site. I feel like I am with you discussing things even when neither of us writes anything. It's sort of that feeling you have when you're alone in the living room reading a book, but you know everyone else is in the house somewhere. You still feel together. When I go to SparkPeople, it almost feels like walking into a club. I feel like everyone is there with me, but most importantly, I know my friend is. Thank you.

Thanks for the link. Thanks for the pep talks. Thanks for being someone who sees this whole health/weight issue almost the same way I do. Let me lose 80 or so pounds and I'll run the half with you instead of walking it. Oh no!!! I just put that in writing!

Welcome to the Dave Ramsey Fans team! Let us know what we can do to encourage you on your way. Losing weight, managing finances, training for a half-marathon or marathon all requires consistent effort over time.

You can do it. We will be along the sidelines cheering you on! Way to go!!
