I recently (December 29, 2007)lost my mother to breast cancer. The last few months have been hell...and consequently, I have added more pounds than I care to admit. I know that one way to prevent breast cancer in myself is to reach and maintain a healthy weight and fitness level. My mother was the third consecutive generation to die from breast cancer- I'll be damned if I'm number 4! I'm sorry if I sound angry- I am..I should not be losing my family this way, I should not have to worry about my daughters' lives, I should not have to worry about my sister's life and I should not have to be considering what to do to protect myself- this is curable- we just need to be proactive toward finding the cure and prevention!

UPDATE: Since I wrote this page a while back, I have also lost my father. He passed away almost one year ago to the day, on July 8, 2009. He fought hard but heart disease is a cruel foe. So, having lost BOTH of my parents in 18 months, I continued to pack on the pounds.

But, my life hasn't been all awful. My oldest daughter got married on May 8, 2010. She will graduate college with her Bachelor's Degree at the age of 20 in August. My youngest daughter just graduated high school. She will attend Miami University in Oxford, Ohio to study Zoology in the Fall. She attended community college instead of high school for the past 2 years so she will be entering as a junior class member. I am so proud of their accomplishments.

My Goals:
I am working at becoming more fit. I have learned through SP that I can eat more of the things I like if I keep myself moving and eat in moderation.


My Program:
I am eating healthier and using everyday activities to achieve my fitness goals plus setting goals for fitness.



Personal Information:
I live in rural western Ohio and work in home health care. I lost my job at the school through a layoff and lost my mother within 8 days of each other...thus- I took up eating to get myself through all that. Not the best move of my life.

    Deplete week is the first week in Crack the fat Loss code by Wendy Chant. During this week, you are allowed 20 net carbs per day to train your body to burn other fuels besides carbs.... The rest of the plan is all about carb cycling. I have had great results but fell off the wagon after my vaca at the end of June....
