2015 ..... here I go again and lovin' it !!!

Yep another new year of SP, this makes # 5 coming up for me. Pretty awesome huh? Well I think so and I am so happy to be continuing my journey with all the wonderful friends I have made and who without, I don't know that I would still be here. I have found that the friends I have made are also my motivation, they help keep me accountable each and every day !!!

SP is one of the best things that has happened in my life and I shout it from the roof tops and will continue to do ...

SP is not a diet, diets end, SP is learning to live a healthy way of life that lasts.

As I start my 4th year of learning to live healthy I have accepted that this is a new way of life and I like it !!! It has it's ups and it's downs, just like everyday life. It's no different; it's just a choice I choose so that I can live a longer fuller active life that my very over weight previous self could not have done. I am a happy positive motivated person with a vision of the future now.

2013 ended without a change in my weight but it was still a success as it did end with me walking on a regular basis, which I will increase in 2014 and my goal will be to get to One-derland by year's end.

I will blog about these changes as they happen because that's what we SPARKPEOPLE do. We share with each other our successes, our accomplishments, our NSV, our temptations, and so much more. We give and we get motivation, inspiration and encouragement and we stay strong together.

If we are truly serious and committed to changing the way we think about food and fitness and want to live a healthy life then we have to learn how to do it and SP is the place to be.

The Beginning 2010 : ........

After being unemployed for nearly 2 years and a bout of depression to go with it, I promised myself when I did get a job I would quit smoking. Well I was offered a job the Wednesday before Xmas 2009 and quit smoking Xmas day 2009, and I started my new job on 1/4/10 .

I have always had issues with my weight and during my unemployment I ballooned to my highest ever. My dearest friends would make suggestions and offers to get me motivated but I was deaf to their voices. Finally working again and not smoking I started to get concerned about gaining more weight and I literly woke up one morning mid Jan 2010 and said "today is the day".

So Jan 15th 2010 the journey began for me and by Oct 2010 I had lost 57 pounds. I had been very active with researching and reading and learning as much as I could online about nutrition and eating healthy and then after reading a post on the Hungry Girl web site that same month I found SPARKPEOPLE and decided to check it out. I was looking for another means of motivation and am so glad I looked here. I became very involved and active with reading the articles and message boards before I really decide to take part in the "program". Now I am here daily and love it. I have made some wonderful friends and have learned so much about how to make changes to a healthy lifestyle and making it permanent.

My Goals:
My goal is to become a healthier person while changing my eating habits and getting in shape.

My Program:
I am making healthier food choices and eating smaller portions, I am learning new ways to enjoy my food. I monitor my calorie and fat intake as I go along through out each day. I try to incorporate body movement of some physical sort each day as well.

Personal Information:
I am from the east mid Atlantic coast and would love to live in a year round warm state. I share my home with my precious "Dusky" conure, my youngest brother, his wife and their son and their dog Mya, although we do have our own living quarters .

Other Information:
I am over 1/2 century years of age and until I lost this weight, I felt every year of it. I am a true believer in fate and that things do happen for a reason. I place my faith in God Almighty and know that he walks with me everyday. I enjoy TV in the evenings after work and dinner, weekend getogethers with my dear friends, going to the movies, the beach, would love to take a glassblowing class, and I would like to start painting again too. I love animals, especially birds and dogs, Would like to travel back to the Caribbean someday, And it's also very important to know that my cocktail of choice is a martini (Cosmo ) ....... CHEERS !!!
