Transformation: A butterfly in the making!

My name is Debbie, and I'm from Northern Louisiana.

I currently weigh 240 lbs. I've never really been serious about actually losing weight; although I've always wanted too. I guess I was in denial about my true size? I still sorta see myself as I was way back in 1975, lol. Small and pretty. Not fat and frumpy and old!

I will turn 55 years old this March 2010. Time for me to get out of denial and see myself for what I am. I'm type 2 diabetic on both insulin and orals; ...

I will turn 55 years old this March 2010. Time for me to get out of denial and see myself for what I am. I'm type 2 diabetic on both insulin and orals; has lots of reasons to get healthy. Now I just need to get to work at it! I'm looking to get from this site lots of encouragement and finding some friends/buddies and gaining insite of what I've been doing wrong and how I can change things.

Oh, and in lieu of a photo of me, I chose to have a pic of a butterfly. Why? Well, that's how I'm going to see myself; transformed as a butterfly is transformed. Transformed into something new; something lovely.

The truth of the matter is that there's nothing you can't accomplish if: (1) You clearly decide what it is that you're absolutely committed to achieving, (2) You're willing to take massive action, (3) You notice what's working or not, and (4) You continue to change your approach until you achieve what you want, using whatever life gives you along the way.
