Doing nothing is very hard to do ... you never know when you're finished.- Leslie Nielsen

I Started SP the end of Jan. 2009. Briefly, I have always had some issues with my weight. I had had some success with diets, most notably WW where I was able to get down to 138 very briefly and settled into 143 comfortably. My lifetime WW weight goal was 153 which was easily bypassed at that time.

Sadly, I made the huge dieters mistake of thinking of it as something with a beginning and an end and once I was no longer tracking all my food and exercise I fell back into old habits.

So in the years after WW I struggled just to keep from zooming totally out of control.

When I found SP in Jan. I was determined that this was not a diet. A beginning yes....the first day of the rest of my life sort of thing....but no end....this is a healthy lifestyle quest and it has to be habits that last forever. So at this point, I haven't met my weight goal quite yet....I have met a lot of fitness and appearance goals and I have met myself metaphorically and I really like this new friend.

So how did you do last week. I started off okay and by Friday fell apart. Not enough steps and too many calories-bad combination. Starting over today. emoticon

Yesterday was a great day, under the adjusted caloric allotment! Woohoo! Shows on the scale too. I'm doing great but Erik and I are going out to dinner and the sweet friend who drove me to the hospital the day Erik had his accident may join us. Shaune and I with another were supposed to have a merry widows' party that day in 2010. Things just went a little haywire.
We are having Italian prepared by a real Italian...not a chain, so I'm going to have to read and choose wisely.
The most important thing is that you were in the range!!!!
Have fun with your cousin. I'm keeping the pound I lost OFF! Because I still have 9 more to lose by mid September. emoticon emoticon

Yep, WW is where I got that notion too. It has come back to bite me for the same reason you expressed. emoticon

Donna, I went way over yesterday and it's the adjusted range of calories for the amount of exercise I do. My first goal here is to meet our challenge and stay within (about the middle) the amount of calories allowed as my tracker is set up.
Next step-if I'm not losing weight is to figure out how to re-change it so I'm more strictly limited on calories. I'm concerned about that because when I do a lot of yard work/swimming or stuff I get really hungry and light headed.....but lets do the first goal first. I tracked and so far today I'm doing much better. I have to make it to the evening like you did.
Funny you should mention brushing your teeth well-I suggested that to Janet when she was fighting evening snacks after Erik explained to me that he couldn't eat anymore because he brushed his teeth...lol
Isn't it funny when you have calories left you think you have to consume them...we really need to exorcise that idea from our heads. Having calories left over is a good thing....to a degree.

Okay, we are in the same boat! I've been coasting in the same waters for entirely too long. I really need to buckle down, lose the initial 10 pounds for the September wedding than work on the remaining 20. These 30 once lost and recovered need to go and I need to stop "putzing" around. 7 days of on track of food tracking challenge time-you ready?
