One Day at a Time

Hi. I'm D. I am a 40 yo mom to 3 boys; 10 yo twins and an 11 yo. I've been married 17 years. When I reached the weight I was at the end of my twin pregnancy and felt miserable after every meal, I knew it was time for a change. A good friend suggested SP. That was around 3 years ago.

Since then, I've had shoulder and knee surgeries. Now, I have no more excuses.

My Goals:
A few years ago, I lost almost 30 pounds through a similar program of lifestyle change. I felt just great. Then, old habits started creeping back in. I am an emotional eater, and the last few years have been tough on me, so I've just packed the pounds back on.

My goals are simple. I'd like to be able to wear my skinny shorts. I don't want to always feel stuffed and unhappy after a meal. I would like to be strong and in shape now that my knee is fixed up. I want to learn new habits and expand my food horizons to include healthy options that are automatic when I'm hungry.

My Program:
Well, I guess my program is a little of this and a little of that. My exercise right now consists of walking and strengthening. I walk my kids to school, and go the long way home to get in a good 20-30 min. walk. I load my iPod with praise music and off I go.

As far as strengthening, I'm focusing on Pilates type stuff. I do an ab/core program every other day. In between, I alternate between lower body and upper body exercises.

Now that I have my Wii Fit, I'll incorporate those exercises into my new routine.
