Hi. I am in Texas, not Ft. Bragg but I know there is a walking club in your area if you are interested in participating in local events on a regular basis. I do similar walks every weekend. We are not "fund raising" clubs, we are for fun, fitness and fellowship. Our clubs are family oriented and most events are baby stroller, and pet friendly. Thanks for the advice. Maybe after I run the 5k I might try to switch it up, but right now I am doing some kick butt treadmill workouts and if I lift before, I have zero energy for my run. And when I have a bad run, it depresses me more than a bad weight lifting session. Plus after the 5k, running won't be such a priority!
