I'm a marathoner!!! Woop Woop. Training for my second marathon December 9, 2012.

Update 03/16/14 -

I have earned my masters and am currently studying for my licensing test. Afterwards, I want to begin sign language classes... always a student. Life is the best. I've decided to stay in Hawaii 'until further notice' :). So far I've ran 2 marathons, 5ish half marathons, and 20 or so other races. I wimped out on the marathon this year because I was super bored. SO - a perk of living in Hawaii is training starts in March and I've joined a group. I love it!

Update 10/13/11 -

I'm a college graduate, wooo!!! The boyfriend and I moved to Hawai'i September 1st , 2010 so I could pursue my Masters in Social Work. We absolutely love it here. The hiking is amazing and we play year round on a co-ed, drinking softball league (go lightsox!). My classes are great, my body feels great, my life is great. We're in a good spot in our lives right now :)

My little sister was recently diagnosed with Ehler's Danlos Syndrome, which gives me a 50% chance of having it as well. This has given me direction and extra drive to finish a marathon before my muscles and ligaments may begin to disagree more than they already are.

I've never really been my ideal weight. I was very active in High School but towards my Junior and Senior year, I started to put on a little weight. During my first week of college, I had some blood work done and was diagnosed with Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome, which definitely aided in the weight gain. I was put on but on Yaz and dropped 15lbs my freshman year instead of gaining the traditional 15! I had more self-confidence that summer than I'd ever had most of my life.

I, again, started to put weight on my Junior and Senior years of college from emotional eating due to a horrible relationship which I am glad I've left behind now. I am now in a very stable relationship and am more able to control those urges. I also stopped my birth control because I did not like the idea of being on medicine the rest of my life and gained another 20lbs. I've recently restarted my medication and am slowly starting the loosing process again.

So I continue my journey...
