Finally taking the big plunge...

I have done the yo-yo weight thing many times over the years. No matter how healthy and sensible a plan I followed and how much weight I lost, I kept gaining it back. My failure seems to have come from being unwilling to commit permanently to a healthy life style. This time I intend to change that. I am finding SparkPeople to be very motivating and I think belonging will be a great help on my journey.

My Goals:
My primary goal is to lose weight, but in doing that I hope to prevent weight-related health issues. I want to be more active again, and to feel stronger and more confident.

My Program:
I'm using the SparkTool nutrition tracker to help me keep my calories under 1400 with a mix of the right nutrients. I'm aiming for at least 30 minutes of cardio exercise every day, and toning three days a week.

Other Information:
I love to read, write and knit. I'm married with one teenage son. My husband and I both enjoy outdoor activities, particularly walking and hiking. We travel to Ireland often to visit my husband's family and it's one of my favorite places.
