Well guess what, I'm back. I have hit rock bottom in all aspects of my life. I have regained back up to 294.5 as of yesterday. I WILL NOT hit 300 and I WILL NOT let this control me anymore. I'm now divorced and have moved to a new town to start over. I'm officially going to start tracking on Monday 4/1/13 - but I'm updating everything as we speak. If there is anyone in Gainesville, Florida that needs a work out buddy let me know. I have free access to a gym ...

Well, I finally decided I had to take control of my life again. I began my weight loss journey January 2, 2007 at 290 pounds. I got down to 178. (GO ME!) Well, do to a lot of the things life throws at you I am now up to 262.2 a gain of 84.20 pounds. At least I decided to take control before I got back to 290 or even higher. Eek!
So, starting on January 1 I began watching my calories, cutting out sodas, and drinking water. Figured that was a nice start. It will take a couple days of aspirin to get the caffine out of my system and to get the water flushing it out. It will also take a few days of feeling like I'm starving to death to realize....I'll be just fine.
Today is Monday, January 4th and I will be adding walking into my routine!
So - here we go people! I want to lose 102.2 in 2010. that's 8.52 per month. That's doable!

I'm back. I gained about 33 pounds in the last year. I haven't been hiking or eatting correctly. I can't let those 2 years go to waste so here I am. Now let's do this!!
I started this journey on January 2nd 2007. I decided to start after buying size 22 jeans for Christmas and having to return them to the store for 24's because they were too small. My husband was beginning to tell me I was putting on a little weight. He was never ashamed to be seen with me or touch me but I felt sorry for him. I didn't know how he could stand to do those things. I guess I had finally hit rock bottom.
I was going to start on the 1st but had to much junk food in the house so I had to finish eating it all. I now know that wasn't a good choice but it seemed like a good idea at the time.
I started off by just watching my calories and walking. I started off slowing doing 1 mile then working my way up. That usually consisted of walking 30 minutes at work and sometimes riding the stationary bike for 30 minutes. If I didn't walk during the day I would ride the bike for 60 minutes. DH and I started hiking and we now do about 6 miles in 1 hour and 40 minutes. I wish I could begin running but having knee problems is not allowing that to happen.
As of yesterday I am down to 199.2 - that is 90.8 pounds gone forever. I can now fit into a size 10 but wear a size 12 comfortably. I have decided to go down to 160 and then see how I look and go from there.
All of you that are new and just starting just hang in there and start out slow. You can do it...don't give up. The one thing I would recommend to anyone starting out is that you do not have to starve yourself to lose weight. You MUST eat at LEAST 1200 calories a day to maintain weight loss. Lower and you risk your body going into starvation mode and it will begin storing fat to survive. Also DRINK, DRINK, DRINK. When I started this journey I hated water. And to be honest, I still HATE plain water. I should however invest in Crystal Light because I drink over 1/2 gallon of the stuff a day!!

Fitness Minutes: 5,399
1. Drink 64 oz minimum of water DAILY - not just the 5 days I'm at work!
2. Stay within my calorie range 6 of the 7 days. Go for 7 but allow 1 day off for a slight (not excessive) overage!
3. Exercise 5 days each week for a minimum of 1 hour. Shoot for 6 days but don't hate yourself if you don't make it!
4. Remember that these are GOALS not RULES! Breaking 1 will not cause the earth to stop spinning and lightning to strike you dead!
5. Lose 10 pounds each month.
Eating smaller portions and no more sweets.
No more Mt. Dew

I'm a reality show junkie. I love watching tv and movies. I use to sit in front of the tv from the time I got home from work until I went to bed. I'm trying to change that and become more active. There are still shows I WON'T miss.
