Looking For That Thing Called "Life"
Hi! I'm Donna. I'm 35 years old. I'm a single mom of a fantastic daughter. I moved to Glen Allen,Virginia from the Jersey shore September 2012. I am living on a small farm with my sister and her family. There are horses and chickens in yard. It's amazing! I am also officially "Disabled." Hi! I'm Donna. I'm 35 years old. I'm a single mom of a fantastic daughter. I moved to Glen Allen,Virginia from the Jersey shore September 2012. I am living on a small farm with my sister and her family. There are horses and chickens in yard. It's amazing! I am also officially "Disabled." I suffer from chronic severe pain from a degenerative spine. By the age of 29 I had 8 herniated discs, stenosis, and nerve damage in my neck and lower back. Now I have knee issues as well, the doc thinks it's patellofemoral syndrome, also known as "Runner's knee". I was an RN before my back gave out. This is one of my attempts to "Find Life Again" after this back injury has taken so much of who I used to be away from me. I go through phases on Spark People. Sometimes I'll have a run of being on here everyday, then I'll have a break of a few months, then I'll be back. Hope you all have a great day!

My Goals:
#1) REDUCE PAIN!!! #2) Be able to perform activities of daily living without crying. #3) Forget looking better in a swimsuit, I'd just like to look better in anything! #4) Improve my lipid profile - lower total and LDL cholesterol, increase HDL's, and lower triglycerides #5) Improve glucose tolerance and lower blood sugar
My Program:
Baby Steps: #1) Do my basic physical therapy exercises 3x/wk minimum #2) Try to eat smaller meals and snacks more often. As weird as it sounds, I often "forget" to eat. #3) Remember my daily Vitamins and supplements #4) Increase activities that count as "Cardio" - bought Julianne Hough's Cardio Ballroom #5) Improve my mental health by not isolating! Socialize more. Find some quality of life and not feel alone! #6) Be mindful of diet and what nutrients what I eat provides, and how much junk things add. #7) Continue working with doctor's to find adequate pain management that will let me move more
