1. Walk on average 3 miles a day.
2. Get enough sleep.
3. Cut out as much sugar and processed foods as possible.

Dawn, I'm afraid I haven't been taking care of myself too well - I've gained 7 pounds in the past 6 weeks. I'm determined, starting yesterday, to turn this around though. I was eating too much junk food on the run and I was feeling miserable. I'm now trying to do more cooking and eat healthier. I never stopped the fitness - I just started eating poorly.

How about you? In all the ups and downs, how have you been taking care of yourself?

Hi, Dawn. Well if things couldn't get worse, my wife has been in the hospital the past 8 days with a serious internal infection (Peritonitis). If that wasn't bad enough, the particular strain is a serious antibiotic-resistant strain that has to be treated by an Infectious Disease doctor. She is improving, but they expect her to be in the hospital for another week. We're trying to get the doctors to let her go by this coming weekend since it is her birthday on Saturday and relatives from all over Texas plan to come.

How have you been doing?
