I am a husband to an amazing and beautiful wife who allowed me to also father two beautiful kids, daughter is 8, and son is 3. I am a swim coach and personal trainer working toward personal goals as well. I am going to make my triathlon debute on May 15th (two days after my B-day) and right now, that's what I am training towards and using for motivation.

I've been using Sparkpeople daily since my family and I moved to Utah (except a little drop out session when a lot was going on in my life). I started out at 242lbs. and I have been losing steadily since then. I started this in Sept. 08 and was really not into it :(
I was 229lbs. then, I guess I should've been into it, maybe I wouldn't have put on the extra 13lbs. I now have a new outlook though. I am working toward goals and using the website as much as I possibly can and it's helping a lot.

I am weighing in weekly but I actually weigh myself everyday just to track on my P90X work-sheet. I've been doing O.K. but I'm not too worried about that. My weigh-in day is Sunday morning. I am training very hard for my first triathlon May 15th, it's just the sprint distance (750meter swim, 13.4mile bike, and 5K run) but I am very excited and trying not to let myself down.

Personal Information:
It's been a year now since moving to St. George. Love it here, can't wait for every long summer. I will have the time of my life every year. Now becoming a major triathlon trainer/trainee.

Thanks for coming to Raising Stepchildren as Own!! I apologize for not answering you sooner. YES YES YES lets come up with an April Challenge. I did start a water challenge. Look under Challenges posting. It's not too late! I have been working on revamping the team and figuring ways to get everyone coming back. I'd love to hear your ideas! Even be a co-leader??? emoticon

Hey, David. I haven't heard anything from you in awhile. Hope you are doing well.

Stopping by to check in and see how you are doing and to hopefully encourage your journey. I am focused this month on my way of thinking about food and health issues. Proverbs 23:7 says, "For as he thinks within himself, so he is" (NASB). Our thoughts greatly influence the things we do and I am realizing that I too easily revert back to old habits because I am not convinced in my heart and mind of some changes I need to make. So I am deliberately working to take every thought captive to obedience, recognizing those thought processes and search out new ideology / theology to correct my belief system where health issues are concerned. I pray for you and I today as we work to change from the inside out in ways that make us new creatures through and through.
