Just the Beginning

I have come to a fork in the road in my life. As i move towards big decisions and goals in my life i have realized i want to feel good in all things including my health. Over the last 5 years since i graduated high school i have had some MAJOR Changes in my life and with that, my body. I have come to a fork in the road in my life. As i move towards big decisions and goals in my life i have realized i want to feel good in all things including my health. Over the last 5 years since i graduated high school i have had some MAJOR Changes in my life and with that, my body. In High school i was constantly active being on a nationally competitive and title winning dance team that practice 5-7 days a week for at least 2 hours. Roughly 3 months out of high school i got Pregnant with my first child. Over the course of the next 3 years i would be in ups and downs with my self esteem, battling my young mindset and my now Adult woman body, along with a emotionally and mentally exhausting and abusive relationship. Roughly 7 months into my 2nd Pregnancy, i left a man i thought i would someday Marry because i realized making something work takes more than one person and my childrens well being was not WORTH sacrificing for something that was just broken and unfixable.

I Got my head on straight as far as who i was and who i wanted to be. I struggled emotionally and financially for the 1st year on my own. And i remember my Ex fighting with me and trying to cut me down and said "you will never be able to buy a house, you'll never get out of an apartment and our kids wont want to live in an apartment forever, they'll come live with me because you'll fail." THAT was almost 2 years ago.

Today i am 12 months from qualifying for MY own MORTGAGE, which i never thought possible in that first year on my own. i have started a savings and it grows every month, and i am currently researching starting an at Home business so i can be in my childrens lives a little more than i am currently. (Being a single mom and working 52 hours a week , i miss alot).

As i reach these goal and surpass things i never thought i would i continue to see that I CAN do anything i WANT.....its just a matter of wanting it bad enough to have the tenacity and perserverance to sustain the WORK it will take to achieve all i want. I like to live by this quote:

And that is what i am doing, My health, my home, My money, My LIFE. And this is just the beginning.

Congrats on taking the first step into changing your life to a more healthier one by joining the site. Spark is filled with amazing people that will motivate, support and encourage you on your journey. There is so much to learn and discover here, take this one day at a time. A couple of things I would like to suggestion to make you Spark experience a great one.

1. Make goals for yourself. Each month I make a list of what I want to accomplish that month and break them down to smaller goals to work with week by week. This way the BIG picture doesn't seem so big.

2. Join Spark teams. There are tons of teams here and you will be able to find ones that fit to what you like or want in a team.

The key to success here is to be active and you've already started by joining. You will find that everyone is willing to help you out if you need it. Spark friends are here for support, motivation and encouragement. Good luck on your journey to a healthier lifestyle! Again, welcome to the SP family!
