My Goals:
My Goals when I started were to lose some weight, get heahlty and get my strength back up to par in order to compete in the Scottish Heavy Events. I have found however, that I ended up losing more weight than I initially intended, and now fear I'm too light to compete. We'll see in a few months how I feel. I don't want to give up the body composition I've attainted.

My Program:
My program initially consisted of a strict reduced cclorie diet, coupled with a walking program of at least 60 minutes per day and weights three times a week. I so enjoyed my workouts, I gradually increased my program to include 30-40 minutes of runninbg per day, along with a 30-40 minute walk (lisitening to books on tape) each day, circuit training with weights twice per week and with resistance bands 3 times per week. Pushups and Crunches before bed each night. Still tracking food and workouts.

Personal Information:
I'm from northern CA, love to hike, play golf and watch sports. I Enjoy family events and togetherness. I'm a former track and field atlhete and a retired law enforcement officer.

Other Information:
I love to read (Davinci Code Genre), run in the rain, and root for the Giants, Warriors, and 49'ers.

Thanks for your comments. I completely understand about life and work getting crazy. That is how it seems to be for me all of the time lately. I am pretty motivated, sick of being overweight but I am getting there. Just gets really hard sometimes, especially since I am at that number on the scale that is always extremely hard to get past. It looks like you have had awesome success on this site and with the goals you have set for yourself, congratulations!

No worries! I get asked all the time how I got into HG. I was not an athlete, I was the fat girl who always got picked last in gym class. I connected with a big burly man in a kilt last year who saw me working out and said "Hey, why don't you come throw with us?"

Who'd have thought that stalking men in kilts would have brought me to such a great sport!! Last year, I just limped along. I started training with a friend who is a Personal Trainer and Professional HG athlete. It's worth it to travel 1 1/2 hours for sport specific training!! He must be good. He had a stone throwing clinic and 4 people came down from Canada to spend a couple hours with John! (I'm in Oregon, he's in SW Washington)
