Unstoppable

I'm Duane and I'm going to lose weight. Period. Everything depends on attitude and I've changed mine. I'm moving in a positive direction and becoming a better, happier and healthier person each day.
In December 2008, I weighed 390 pounds. I ate typical American food in large amounts and way too much fast food. I used to joke that I was allergic to vegetables.

I switched to a vegan diet. I now try to eat vegan all but one meal a week. I'm eating real, healthy food ...

I've lost a lot of weight, but even before I had, my energy level changed dramatically by changing my diet. I'm feeling so much healthier and I love it. I'm on my way. If a guy who got his vegetables from the ketchup on his double-whopper can change, why can't you?

My Goals:
I want to end each year healthier than the previous year. I want to be healthy and fit and able to DO things! I'd love to become a runner and take up martial arts.

I will run 3 consecutive 10 minute miles before the end of 2011.

My Program:
- I eat vegan for all but one meal a week.
- I track my calories, this keeps me accountable.
- There is no fail. There may be setbacks, but they will all be overcome.
- When you are getting healthier and fitter, time is actually on your side.

ail.asp?recipe=1170260) every morning ensures that I am getting a fantastic start to each day. But, there are tons of great vegan choices, do what works for you.
- Be active. Whatever you enjoy and will keep doing is great. Otherwise, move on to something else, just stay active!

Hi Duane,

Just checking in on you since I've been off SP more than I've been on this year and I see you've been a little spotty as well.

I came back with a fresh sense of commitment to a high fat, low carb lifestyle and the first week has been very encouraging in terms of weight loss, energy going up and cravings almost disappearing. I know this has to be a permanent change, and I hope we can make it one.

Hope all is well with you; hope to see you on SP again soon.
