Hi, thanks for visiting!
Like so many of us-the effort is on and off, repeat. But here I go again...on. I must say there is a lot of bad new habits I've picked up, emotional eating gone wild!!, so I will be taking time to unlearn those and gain better balance. Anything and everything is the game plan to see what works. Being over 300lbs is difficult. I've never felt so bad and I don't want to feel like this anymore. I am pretty sure that I had a big hormonal switch a couple years ago. I actually was finally diagnosed with PCOS, which stinks, really. Another hurdle for life I suppose.

I just got engaged, but I don't want a ring at the weight I am at. I would like to see at least 50lbs gone before I consider the investment, really.

So it is what it is. I feel more in charge of what I need to do. I suppose I have been thinking about what my future goals are. I use weight as a buffer from sometimes needing to make decisions or putting myself out there. I feel much more determined now. And in fact, am in the process of making a goal/dream board as a visual touchstone. I really need this to happen.

In fact, I sort have come full circle -- back to where I started years ago with Spark. Long story short, I was recently doing Beachbody but the videos were too intense for me and I was in agonizing pain all the time plus I really didn't like the shake. So I stepped back, re-evaluated, and decided to repeat what was successful originally. I joined a gym because they have 2 of my favorite things to do: water aerobics and dance aerobics. Really that is the start of my current plan: watch what I eat, reduce the carbs, and move a heck of a lot more! This will be such a long journey so I am hoping to find some friends to motivate, feel accountable to, and share thoughts with along the way.

My Goals:
CHANGES THAT I'VE MADE
Gave up fast food
Gave up daily, weekly, monthly pizza
Gave up heavy carb-rich meals
Gave up frequent potatoes and pasta
Gave up bagels
Gave up evening soda to settle my stomach
Only have butter on occassion
Reduce full fat dairy (hard time controlling portions on sour cream & cottage cheese)
Gave up sneaking potato chip bags into house
Eat a piece of fruit daily


NEXT MINI-GOALS
Make sure I have LaCroix on hand
Learn what my trigger foods are
Incorporate flax into my diet
Not to have cream cheese daily for breakfast
Drink 1/2 gallon of water daily
Curb my salt
No more evening ice cream
Plan my meals & stick to the plan
No more eating 3 hours before bed or after 9pm
Shift my day and therefore meals earlier
Stick to 1 serving of dinner
Stop unraveling each day's successes by late evening folly
Stop calorie banking for evening
Make my day more structured, se


My Program:
log, log, log !- it is the only way that I can analyze what is working and what is not! Making a daily meal collage also greatly helps.

BE REALISTIC
I can not eat 2000 calories each day and expect to lose weight. Some fellow SP member said "you can have 1 of 2 outlooks each day when you awake. 1) get out of bed and realize you made great choices the day before and today you will do the same; or 2) get up realizing that you already regret how you messed up the other day.

IT IS TIME TO THINK AND ACT DIFFERENTLY to make change happen!
