I had been the 'chubby kid' since 13 and only got bigger with each year. My name's Austin, and recently I dedicated myself to better health and weight loss with my now fiance. Together we motivate each other and work out together. I lost 70lbs, but would still like to lose more body fat and tone up while being an inspiration to my future wife, and vice versa.

A little more about me:
I love MMA and self-train Muay Thai. I'd love to find some sparring partners. I'm a graphic designer, do a little bit of everything from photoshop to Maya. I'm a musician, play guitar, bass, drums, turntables, and scream/sing. I love an array of music, mostly rock and metal, but I used to DJ so I also love mixes and some club/techno.

HOW I LOST THE WEIGHT SO FAR:
Like most, I had no idea where to even begin. I was living on my own, no real friends to motivate me or get me out of the house, and I barely saw my girlfriend since she lived over an hour away. While shopping one day I stumbled across a good deal, $20 for a pair of adjustable dumbells, 5-20lbs. Figured what the heck, and got them. I didn't have any exercise DVD's so I just did some basic exercises that I knew off the top of my head. Over time I started researching, subscribed to Mens Health magazine, and started incorporating MMA moves in my workout for cardio. I only lost about 6 lbs in 2 weeks this way. One day my girlfriend was down for the weekend and we decided to check out a local LA fitness. We liked the atmosphere and were offered a good deal, so we took it. For about the next 6 months we worked out at the gym as often as possible when she was down, and she eventually moved in, and days we couldn't get to the gym or didnt feel like dealing with the crowd we would work out at home. I lost about 40lbs, ahnd she about 26. Over time the gym became extremely crowded; our workouts would take almost 2 hours with only 45 minutes of that time actually using machines. Crystal started looking up good workout DVD's and came across Chalene Extreme. We both loved it and started following the routine. We have recently completed the 3 months, and though we still love CLX, we are now trying RevAbs to work our problem areas--mostly our stomachs. We still plan to go back to CLX, though I would also like to try Rush Fit.
Supplements I currently or have taken to help with my weight loss:
1.) Dymatize Elite Fusion 7 Protein--this is an awesome protein that includes 7 types of proteins to help replenish your body properly. Protein builds lean muscle, and this is a great way for me to get my protein without unnecessary calories and carbs. Best taken right after a workout--your body has burned all the carbs and nutrients that were in your body at the time during a hard workout, so you have a 30-minute window to allow optimal absorption.
2.) Dymatize Elite Gourmet Protein--this is another great protein but lower in fat and calories
3.) Optimen Multivitamin--It's important to take a multivitamin daily. Unless we're super health freaks none of us really get the daily nutrients we need just from our food alone. I take a multivitamin every morning and afternoon
4.) Roxylean Thermogenic--when I first started my weight loss journey I was taking Roxylean; it builds your internal temperature and gives you optimal caloric burn, as well as sustained energy without any crashes. Any thermogenic shuld be cycled, 4 weeks on and 4 weeks off. Is it safe? it's the same as if you were wearing a sauna suit every time you worked out, but without having to feel super uncomfortable or look ridiculous lol.
5.) MusclePharm Armor--I take this in addition to my multivariate. It adds a nutrients I don't get since I don't always remember to eat my fruits and veggies (I'm making sure I add more to my diet). It also has great complexes of Omega 3-6-9, and immune system boosters.
6.) CLA--"Conjugated Linoleic Acid (CLA) is a naturally occurring free fatty acid found mainly in meat and dairy products, in small amounts. CLA is research surmised to help build muscle, reduce body fat, and induce an optimum cellular environment for improved health"--BB
