Almost there! Only 5 pounds away from goal!

Hi, I'm Dan and I decided to get back into shape when I hit my highest weight ever, 196 pounds. My weight when I was younger was 150 and I want to get back there.

As of today (11/19/12) I have lost 30 pounds and I am 3/4 the way there! Sparkpeople has helped me because of the trackers etc. Keep pluggin' guys and girls!!!

My Goals:
I started at 196 pounds and I would like to lose 40 pound. I would also like to improve my blood pressure and blood sugar levels.

My Program:
I was lucky enough to get an incredible deal on a bowflex machine so I have combined aerobic lifting, strength training, walking and a little bit of running to make progress.

Smart eating is a huge part of my plan.

It's working!!! :)

Personal Information:
I'm a 54 year old mad from southeastern Michigan, USA. I am a widower with two great kids that I live for.

I work in the IT industry and love my job.

Welcome to the JG team! I noticed you did stop by and introduce yourself! Join the daily check in thread if you would like and join the discussion. We do talk about running quite a bit!

Have a great day.

Good luck with your training! I bet that bowflex is serving as a great cross training exercise in between running days.
