Getting healthier as I get older

I was a Spark Person for several years but my computer got a worm and crashed over three months ago and finally had it repaired but lost everything except most of my pictures. I have missed Spark and want to start again. My husband died a year ago and I gained 15 pounds. Disaster. He would not be happy about that. Hello, thanks for the encouragement on my post, I appreciate it. And I am sorry for the loss of your husband, I lost my dad when I was 5 and my mom when I was 21 so I know how hard it can be. The issue with me is from binge eating for so many years I developed something called " leaky gut syndrome" I don't know if you know about this cause a lot of doctors dont talk about it only holistic doctors do, But it caused me to have all these allergies and I am allegic to tons of foods. I started eating wheat again but i react to it but still eat it as well as dairy cause I find it so hard to not eat it. And I am addicted to it, who would have thought someone would be addicted to food LOL but yea i am emoticon I take an allergy pill so it helps me. There are people who have actually healed their allergies by doing an ellimination diet and eating a paleo style based diet but once again its so hard for me to do since that diet requires you to eat tons of veggies which I am allergic to most of them. I also get hypoglycemia but i really need to do something cause i have high blood pressure and high cholesterol.

I saw your comment on an article about non cook recipes. Sounds like you could use a friend. I log on to spark people daily. I try to read my spark mail once a week while at the library. I mostly use spark apps on my smart phone and the phones internet browser. Am going to add you as a friends so i can see you in the activity tracker and give you encouragement from time to time. God bless you! Hang in there and keep heading in the right direction. Set attainable goal and rejoice in all the little victories. Focus on what you can do and not what you can't do. Were in this together.

Oh yes, I forgot to add. My son walked 4082 miles from Whistler Bc to Key West Florida USA. Look at his blog www.thewalkoflife.org . It was an amazing feat indeed. If I would have been the one walking I would have dropped the weight for sure, but I was driving the support car LOL

Amazing! This comment was from 2012. Now it has already become 2014. I am still struggling and have not gone down. I am very hypothyroid and have to face the fact that I simply do not need much food. I am gluten, soy, peanut, egg, sugar free vegan so not too many things to cut out LOL
I do deep water Aqua three times a week, but unfortunately do not do much exercise on my own. My fault as I do have a stationary bike and a rebounder. I just need to fine tune what goes into my mouth, and that is the challenge. I just need to face facts and run with them.
