Hey there!

I have tried for years to get motivated again. Before I was involved in a train wreck I use to run 10 miles a day. On Mondays, Wednesday's and Friday after work I went to the health club and worked out. Hey there!

I have tried for years to get motivated again. Before I was involved in a train wreck I use to run 10 miles a day. On Mondays, Wednesday's and Friday after work I went to the health club and worked out. Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturday's I would go to Body Talk Dance Studios and rehearse routines with a few friends. My dance team, which consisted of myself and two friends, was chosen to try out for the dance show Solid Gold. I placed in the semi-finals, and I was on my way to Dallas for the finals - two weeks away.

All that changed in a moments notice, my brakes failed and I hit a train head on. I was no longer able to continue with the life style I was accustom, and Solid Gold melted right before my eyes.

I became the ultimate couch potatoe. Within the first year I gain almost 80 pounds, all my friends changed, my eating style changed. It was like I became a different person. I saw an old friend that I use to hang with about a year and a half after my accident. They did not even recognize me. Once I explained who I was and they figured it out (duh) they made a comment, "What happened you use to be so skinny."

I turned and walked away. From that day on life became a blurr and here I am joining SparkPeople at 305 pounds. I am glad to be here and already I find my motivation coming back.

THANKS YOU SPARK!!!

So sorry about your loss --what a beautiful dog Becca Boo is and what a wonderful tribute to keep her alive on your page. Really pleased to have met you through the writers' support group pages and looking forward to keeping in touch on our Spark People journey. All very best wishes and sympathy at this very sad time.

It's sad when people act the way they do and we find out who our real friends are when something happens that changes us or changes the status quo.
I am glad you are here. You are doing so well and making great strides towards a better life for yourself.
Keep going. you'll be there before you know it!!
