Creating a Better Me

When I originally signed up, I was 15 pounds lighter and could NOT for the life of me lose any weight or inches. I eventually accepted my body and focused on health. Last year I started Zyrtec (allergy medicine) and gained 15 pounds in a very short period of time. The medication makes me ravenously hungry and stopping it wasn't an option (I break out in hives when I stop). So it's time to focus on returning back to my last weight at 123.

I haven't done any workout DVDs! So far I've just been working on the treadmill or elliptical, though I just bought my first swimsuit in 21 years, so maybe I'll learn to swim too.

Right now, my husband and I are doing our hour-long workouts together in the evenings, and re-watching the entire series of X-Files. XD It was your "favorite episodes" question that made me want to re-watch it. We just watched "Shadows" and started "Ghost in the Machine" while he was on the treadmill and I was on the elliptical. FUN! Talk about motivation. Hehe! We're saving them for exercising only.

I really should watch the Doggett episodes this time around. I must admit I mostly pretended they don't exist. Hehe.

I saw your response to the quick poll on meatless meals (Random person: My iron and protein is kind of low so I have to eat it, You: Faceslap) and just had to come by and say LEGEND. xo xo

Yes, I just started a month ago! I'm going to have to find a new form of aerobic exercise soon because running is killing my knees. I went to the doctor today and she basically just said, "Stop running." I'm going to seek an orthopedist.

No, I don't belong to any X-Files communities. I used to, ages ago, when it was still airing. A few mailing lists.

Yeah, it's much easier to answer which episodes I *don't* like. Which are mostly, um.... Doggett episodes. ;) I definitely have a fondness of the humorous episodes. I also love a lot of the major character development episodes. Myth-arc episodes that really challenged Mulder and Scully, or episodes outside the myth-arc that made them confront themselves and each other. The writers were so good at that. Some of my favorite episodes are "Jose Chung's From Outer Space", "Anasazi" through "Paperclip", "Duane Barry" and "Ascension", "Darkness Falls", "Small Potatoes", "Bad Blood", "Dreamland I and II", "Clyde Bruckman's Final Repose", "How the Ghosts Stole Christmas"... Ummm, I'll just stop there. Now I want to watch the whole series from the beginning, which I will do. *lol*

Oh, and "War of the Coprophages".

"Bambi? ... Her name is... Bambi?"

Hey! It looks like our goals are similar. I'm 123 pounds, 5'4", looking to get in shape, tone up, and get fit. I'm also vegan, and animals are one of the most important things in my life. Love the pics of your bunnies and chins! It was your username that caught my eye; I have the entire series of X-Files on DVD. :D

The chinchillas are so cute! I have always wanted one of those! Some how I don't think I will be able to talk the hubby into it though. I love it when they spin around in the dust. As far as cages, I ordered these "metro condos" from KW Cages. They are 2-story cages so the bunnies can get different views of their surroundings. I have the cages placed inside larger pens. so they can get out and hop around. Now, Miss Charlie has the entire upstairs to explore. She is not much of a chewer (compared to some of my previous bunnies), so she has worked out well being loose all of the time.
