Creating a Better Me

When I originally signed up, I was 15 pounds lighter and could NOT for the life of me lose any weight or inches. I eventually accepted my body and focused on health. Last year I started Zyrtec (allergy medicine) and gained 15 pounds in a very short period of time. The medication makes me ravenously hungry and stopping it wasn't an option (I break out in hives when I stop). So it's time to focus on returning back to my last weight at 123.

I'm glad you've been feeling better! And good job on cutting back the Starbucks, I know that's crack for you, lol. I'm making a conscious effort to track, since I have a tendency to eat far too few calories per day- usually I hover around 300-500, even with my love of carbs. I don't do it on purpose, I just don't eat when I'm not hungry, and I'm usually not hungry until dinner (or I get distracted and forget to eat). I don't really eat junk food, and the only fluids I drink (other than alcohol) are water and (fresh) tea. I have serious stomach issues, and when I went on the Leaky Gut Diet for two weeks I felt aMAZING. Being vegan alone isn't enough for my stomach (although it helps immensely), apparently I need to do gluten-free as well. :P I'd really recommend trying cutting gluten if you can, to see if it improves your stomach even more.

Good luck on the house! An hour each way take a huge chunk out of the day, I would be the same way. Cooking really does take forever, it's why I tend to fall back into a slump of making the same things all the time, lol. I just got Veganomicon though, and so far am 2 for 2!

Lol, that would be one benefit of not having about 2k miles between us, yeah. ;) We can motivate each other from afar, though! Believe it or not, Fatty's actually at a healthy weight now! He lost a scary amount, but we bulked him back up after the surgery. He'll always be stocky (just his bone structure, he's not meant to be a slim cat), but he doesn't have the hangy tummy pouch anymore. Maybe I should have my gallbladder removed, lol! :P

Well I'm glad you're back! I have a problem with my motivation coming on strong and then waning, although right now it's pretty high, lol. I can't seem to kick this 10 lbs that's been hanging around for a while, I got rid of most of it for the wedding but then stress put it back on. :P I figure when I get it off I'll aim for another 5 "buffer" pounds, in case I gain some back again.
