This is me in a nutshell - no bells, whistles or anything else that might detract from the journey that I'm undertaking or the changes that I'm hoping to make that will last the rest of my life.

I have never been a really sporty person and all through grade school I avoided gym class, so now in my very late 20's and working on changing an ingrained routine that never included lots of exercise. It's a learning process that forces me to make better choices and to not sit down on the ...

I have never been a really sporty person and all through grade school I avoided gym class, so now in my very late 20's and working on changing an ingrained routine that never included lots of exercise. It's a learning process that forces me to make better choices and to not sit down on the couch or jump into the comfy PJs right when I walk through the door, but it gets easier and more routine every day. I have my little motivational "you can do it" chats whenever I feel like giving up and I try to push myself a little more each week without going overboard.

My Goals:
My initial goal when I started was to lose weight, 47 lbs to be exact. Along the journey over the last few months I have expanded this goal. Yes, I still want to lose the weight, but now I also want to have more energy, feel more confident about myself, start enjoying life again and to be a better all round version of myself. I know, its a lofty set of goals but the energy comes with exercise and the being a better version of myself starts with liking myself. If I am happy, then I will get along better with others and be able to deal with the hiccups in life more effectively and with less harm to myself and others.

My Program:
My program involves exercise and eating properly. The eating healthy part was easy because I rarely ate out before and fast food was never a part of my vocab. But, even though I ate tons of fruits and veggies every day before I still wasn't losing the weight. Problem was that I wasn't eating the right balance of foods - now I'm finding balance. My exercise plan is at least 1 hour a day, 5 times a week - so that's 5 hours more per week than I was doing before!

My name is Stephanie and I hail from Calgary, Alberta, Canada. I don't live in an igloo (although it feels that way somedays) and I am not an avid skiier (unless hitting trees becomes part of the sport). But I do love my mountains!
