I am a 43yr. old Mom of two fabulous teenagers. I am on a mission to just get healthier for myself and my kids. I want to be around for all of the great things their futures hold. I dont want to just be on the side lines I want to be a participant. Most of all I hope to set an example for my kids and their health, I cant expect them to be healthy if I am not!!! I want to wake up every morning feeling great not tired and unmotivated.

My Goals:
I want to get healthy, lose 40-50 lbs. I want to be around to see how fabulous my kids turn out!! I want to be active in life not sit on the side lines watching it pass by!!Most of all I want to wake up everyday full of life and ready for what life brings.

My Program:
I am making lifestyle changes, diets dont work for me!! I took up running usually between 3-4 miles a day 3Xweek. I started watching what I am eating .I am spending time outdoors getting them involved in fitness too. The best tool I have is my new food/mood journal.

Personal Information:
I live in the great state of Florida, the wonderful sunshine state!!. I have two great kids who keep me very busy. I recently started home schooling them, the best thing I ever did!!

HI- How have things been going? Things are so so for me...everytime I try "running" my back starts hurting so I have been walking instead which is fine...maybe when I finally lose a few pounds I can try again.

Thanks for your encouragement... I wish I read it this morning before I wimped out on running and did work instead...now I am angry at myself but I won't have a chance to get out again until Friday morning. On the plus side I did well with my food. I am very impressed by your commitment and jealous that you have a pool...I guess in Florida you really need one... here in CT, you only need one about 2 months a year. emoticon

welcome to sparks and the I Need Sleep Team! it's hot and very humid up here in Michigan, too. working out can become an art form when you're trying to get things done and not make yourself sick. make sure you stay hydrated with your running.

I really enjoy walking with my daughter, its really hot in Florida this time of year. I have been using my treadmill more than anything, I have worked my speed up to about 5.5-6.0, getting up to 2.5 miles in about 40 min. I want to do better on my time, goal is a 10 min mile at full run. Hang in there, good job on the walking this morning. I hope is is cooler weather for you tomarrow, we will be out again followed by a dip in the pool. I have heard running is the best way to drop weight. My goal is atleast 20 lbs by Oct. emoticon

I am impressed that you and your daughter went out at 6 AM. That is great commitment. I did a walk this morning. Tomorrow is supposed to be less hot so I am going to do 0.5 mile run and then walk the rest of the way ( for 3 miles). My goal is to run 1 mile by the end of the summer. I had good success losing weight with running in the past but I was younger and in much better shape then. Have a great day :)
