My Goals:

My weight goals:

1st - get below 200 - DONE!
2nd - get to 180
3rd - get to 150

My other goal is to ultimately get my diabetes under control with diet and exercise, as much as possible, and get off my medications completely.

My Program:
It's been a long and interesting journey to reach the place I'm at now.

I started many years ago with small changes...not eating so much fast food and no longer drinking soda.

Those changes evolved into gradually eliminating almost all processed and fast foods, then turned into clean/whole foods.

From that point I became low-carb, then a few months ago I began following the low-carb, high-fat (LCHF, also known as Ketogenic) way of eating.

Now my diet consists of a high amount of healthy fats, a moderate amount of grass-fed proteins, and low carbs, mostly from vegetables and some nuts.

I almost never eat grains, juices, anything sugary. I'll have some fruit once in awhile, and it's a wonderful treat when I do.

The evolution of my journey began as an attempt to lose weight and be healthy, then switched to controlling my blood sugars when I was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes in June of 2014.

I wanted to be completely off meds

I've been doing keto for just over a month. I'm loving it! No more joint pain and I am finally losing again. My husband started when I did and is now off all his insulin. His doctor is very happy with his progress. He's also lost a couple of pant sizes.
