Total 2009 bike miles:44 + 397 + 178 + 328 + 271 + 332 + 72 + 24... = 1694 December 31 UPDATE: Ok, so I'm not CURRENTLY riding those 100 miles/week... much too cold here in Illinois! As today is the very last day of the year I can report that I officially rode a total of 1694 miles in 2009 (road only-not counting spin class mileage here). Setting a goal for 2010 to beat that number! Here's to a terrific year! Ok, so my personal trainer is showing me the proper stance for a particular exercise and he tells me to stick my butt out behind me like Donald Duck. I replied, "well, how about like Daisy Duck?" I actually don't have to stick it out too far - it does that on its own! Thus, my spark identity was born. I googled the images - she's kinda cute. *************************************** October 2007 UPDATE: I no longer have a duck butt! I think the elliptical stole it! I've gone from a size 12 to a size 6 in the 6 months I've been logging into Sparkpeople! My family IS getting a better me! 2008: Still going strong. A couple of injuries have made me more aware of my limitations. I'm completely addicted to working out though. It's really hard to hold back sometimes! 2009: UPDATE Had a very rough end of the year 2008 as far as my personal life goes. My father passed away in November which was hands down the most difficult thing I've ever had to go through. Almost 3 months have passed since then and I still have a hard time believing it happened. Perhaps if it had been expected and we had been prepared, I'd be better able to cope, who knows. Taking it day by day is all I can do. The biggest change as far as my nutrition and exercise is that I find myself just not caring so much. I put forth the effort because I know I'm doing the right thing for my health, but I'm not always so determined to get down to that number on the scale anymore. My energy level is at an all time low - my main focus is on bringing that back up. 1st BRICK workout 8/7/09: RBR 1 mile run 10:40 11 mile ride 44:00 2 1/2 mile run 26:51

My Goals:
***I've now been a member of SP for 4 years and I couldn't be happier! I have maintained my 25 pound weight loss so far and more importantly, I have changed my lifestyle. I AM a RUNNER. :) I AM a CYCLIST!
My Program:
Run Bike Swim (new in 2011) Do SOMETHING every single day. Even if it's just a walk, I will purposefully MOVE daily. Strength Training 3 days per week minimum. Continue to eat CLEAN
Personal Information:
To know me is to know I BIKE! I live in a northwest suburb of Chicago in a small town that's not so small anymore! I love to ride my bike and I only wish I lived in a warmer climate so that I could bike year round. I have a wonderful husband and two beautiful daughters. And a dog (read below)
Other Information:
My family is the most important thing to me. My husband turned me into a cyclist and we spend many hours together riding. With my girls getting older and heading off to college within the next few years, I find I'm a little anxious about having an empty nest. My identity is all wrapped up in taking care of them! I'm working on changing that! I'm very interested in nutrition and am considering going back to school to become a dietician. I LOVE to cook. I like to read cookbooks and food magazines - I enjoy reading about the process. I especially enjoy taking everyday recipes and making them over into healthier-yet-still-tasty versions. I don't watch much television. However, I have no problem finding time if a Tom Hanks movie is on! :) I got a dog in 2006 after much begging from my daughters. I finally gave in with just one request - I get to name it "TOM HANKS THE DOG" . I imagined myself in the park calling out "Here Tom Hanks!" and everyone would think wow, she
