I have been a yo-yo dieter my whole life. It took me until I hit 45 to decide I really needed to get serious. I joined Weight Watchers at 195 lbs and lost about 30 lbs over a year, then gave up. I quickly went back to old habits, but thanks to the 'creation' of exercise, I was able to maintain my 169 weight for another 1+ years.
I was on medication that I believe was also responsible for my not being able to lose any more weight and decided that my weight lose was more important than my 'mental well-being' and went off my meds (of course with doctors approval). I then re-joined Weight Watchers and quickly took off another 35 lbs. I hit maintanence and have currently been there for 1 year.
Over the summer I discovered SparkPeople and joined right away. I seem to have been putting some weight back on and in the last 3 months have had to 'pay' at WW (I am more than 2 lbs over goal weight). I am having a hard time getting back on track and hope SP can help lead the way.
I am looking forward to joining the 12 week challenge.
