After having a stroke eight years ago, I am paralyzed on my right side. Since I lost 192 pounds, I feel a lot better. I no longer have seizures, and my blood sugar is under control. I live in a rest home in Ash Grove, Missouri. We get good care, but the food is mostly fried ( sometimes even the fruit is fried.) My best choice is to choose "the least of all evils." My son, John, is 33 and has three children. My daughter, Sarah, is 23 and works at three jobs. She's one year short of graduating from college. My father, Fred, died a week ago. I really miss him. Although I can't do much of anything else to help my mother, Frances, I call her at least once a day. There are still 33 pounds left to lose and I'm afraid that will be harder than the first 192.

Thank you for adding me to your friend list. I am not on here like I should be. I know it helped me to loose weight. I have a bad back which hinders me from exercising much. You have done a great job on your weight lost. I am sorry about your father ,my dad has been in Heaven 13 years now and it still hurts like it happened today. I try to call my mother at least every other day. She is 88 years old and doing OK. Welcome

Well Hello Sharon! Wow! I'm so impressed with you! I haven't been on Spark People in ages, I'm afraid I gave up the fight. But you've encouraged me to get back at it! Almost 200 pounds! And that doctor said you couldn't do it, you sure showed him! I'm so sorry to hear about your dad, that is so very hard, I know, both of my parents have gone on to be with Jesus. After my dad died, I did the same thing with my mom that you're doing with yours. We called it our "hello/good bye" call. We both just wanted to hear the other's voice. My ex left me about 6 weeks after my dad died and I lived 3 hours away from all my family, we had no children. But 4 years after that God blessed me with the most wonderful husband in the world and we've been married just over 15 years now. Again, I am just so proud of you! It must have been really difficult as like you said, the food you're fed isn't the easiest to loose weight on and you're limited in the exercises you can do. I'll be praying for those last 33 pounds to just melt away! Again, you're in my prayers and thanks for the encouraging word!
